Benson Bear was fair

Well I finally made it out on the water tonight and got my fix in... It was a blast even though there wasn't a lot of size tonight... Of course the channels schooled me again, I can't hook them worth a dang, but I ended up with 4 channels out of many hits that I missed and two slabs that were worth the trip... Anyway it was a pretty night for a float, I tried the picture placement deal but couldn't figure it out and I'm tired and don't want to figure it out tonight so if you want to see some little guys and a couple nice crappie click the button... For those interested in the floatila I found a good take out spot that you won't even have to have connections to use, so join up with us in about two weeks and I'll show some good spots for launching and pulling out that will give you about an hour and a half float if you don't stop along the way and covers some good fishing holes... This take out is for tubes, toons and small boats without trailers that can be carried by hand... Later J

Way to go J. Glad you got your itch scratched. Really regret I didn't stop off when I passed you. As it turned out the rest of the family was off and about, so really no need to rush home!
So lemme guess - that was your pickup and pontoon I saw parked at the church earlier? I too missed a little of bites and pecks. Never seems to fail - with two rods - BOTH get busy at once....
I only encountered carp, and dinkers at that, despite the beasts that kept flopping and wallowing all round. Should brought the bow down!

So did you catch more from the bank, or were they all while you were tubing?
You know me - I'm game for a venture. Guess my boat won't qualify for that trip. Have to see if I can hookup with Ben, or maybe borrow a tune or canoe from a friend. Of course THIS is the year Lava unloads HIS toon! [:/]
But there's no way Bama can hold ALL my tackle in his boat! Haha - seriously - how much do you need to chase cats anyway. Hooks, bullet sinkers, and worms - right?

Off to the north end of Cutler today. See what this sunny warm weather brings! (sunscreen - check!)

Hey Yote it wasn't my truck and toon at the church. I went from home straight to the river. Hey your boat will be fine for the float we'll just pull out at a different spot. Oh I didn't mention I about lost my pole. I was playing with a cat on one pole and my other one was just dangling in the water at the toon and either a bass or carp grabbed the jig and took off. I grabbed my pole just before it went in and it snapped my line instantly. It was a big fish. Anyway I think the bank could have been just as good last night. It would have been a lot easier. Well good luck today. J

I saw you out there last night. If I would have known that was you, I would have walked over and said hi. I was walking around behind you with the bow looking for carp. I managed one. It was just a quick trip anyways. Needed to take my son for a drive to settle him down before bed time.

Hey Ben sorry I didn't recognize you without ice fish'en clothes on. Yup that was me I forgot my anchor so I tried to hang in the back swirls. Glad you got a carp it looked like you were making some fairly long shots that's great. How did you and Yote do today? Good thing I didn't make any plans for today we ended up with family in the emergency room. So I hope that works out okay. Anyway we almost got our paths crossed. Maybe next time. Till then good luck. Later J

Had a pretty good day out I'd say. Just threw up a post. Ben stuck it to a few carp while I lipped up a few cats. Well, carp too. I know some folks don't lose any love for carp, but word - those beasts can put up a fun fight! Ripping Line!!!! I was laughing out loud!

Mud swirls all around, what's a guy to do!

Sorry to hear about your emergency room trip. Never good - hope all's well.

Hey Yote sounds like ya had a great day. I know what your saying about a great fight when you got a carp on, they are the fresh water tarpon. Too bad that fish got such ugly looks or else they would be endangered.

The emergency room turned into a while in intensive care so were still saying our prayers and hoping that works out okay. Thanks for the concern. We hope things will get better soon. Catch up with ya later. J
