Have you seen TDs map?
Not sure what you like to target, but pitching spinners, or cranks around the deeper channel you'll find in the middle of the lake will usually bring on some trout.
If you want to target bass, bluegill, perch - you can work the woody edges - I'd suggest your best bet might be along the shore north of the knoll. But from reports - doesn't seem like the bass/gills have really moved in to shallow beds so much yet. Jigs, tubes with a tipping of crawler can draw out the bass/panfish. Folks do well with fly-options too.
I've even had gills attacking the cotton fluff buildup on my line, so - yeah . . .
Good luck. Love to hear how you do. Haven't hit that puddle since ice-off this year. But it's on the 'list'.
Don't forget your $5 for the launch fee. And watch your speed out there!!!!

I am also planning on heading up there this weekend for the first time, I'd like to try and catch some bass but I guess anything would beat the skunk I've been getting at willard lately.

I had a ton of success staying straight out from the ramp and a little south.
I used black/olive wooly buggers, olive/brown gartsides, and purple showgirls and just before sundown I hit them with a brown crystal killer.

Caught ten or so trout and ten or so bass and one blue gill. I can't get up there as early as you guys. So I might just go to Vernon. I haven't been there yet this year.

Did you have any luck? We just left and it was pretty slow for us, just a few small largemouths.
