I've never been to East Canyon before but I'd like to head up there sometime this week. Any tips on where I can fish from shore and have success? I've heard that over by the dam is a good place to start.

It is not all that great right now. Some guys have success but it sure isn't hot action by any means.

Yeah yeah I threw the whole damn tackle box of spinners and spoons out there and tried everywhere from Taylor Hollow to the inlet with out a single bite. Went back to the inlet another day and still nothing. My buddy has been there 5 times in the past 2 weeks and says the same as me. I talked to anglers the 2 times I went and they said the same thing. Just saying you might want to save yourself the skunking is all.
Trust me when the water temp warms in Late June to July/August the bass fishing is tip top from shore!

Not from the shore but I was there last week. We trolled the shoreline using Curly's Lures and did very well.
The Bows are nice and fat this year.
Average size was about 15" with some over 18".
I tries some kastmasters and Jakes with no luck though.
The East side just South of the ramp was best. Taylor Flats didn't produce for us.

Try the canyons from the Morgan Side, There are pulloffs with steep embankments and you can catch bass or trout from here.
Or
Try the Henefer Side, the pulloffs are more brushy and are gradual embankments and you can catch trout with powerbait.
Right now the rainbows are deeper during the day and come up to the surface in the evening/morning. You can almost always catch rainbows on powerbait (Garlic Rainbow or Chartreuse)
Good Luck

Is there anywhere local to buy Curly's lures? Or do you get them online? I have a friend that uses them and I've always wanted to pick up a few...

I took the wife and daughter and killed em on powerbait and worms from shore. They were pretty healthy bows too. Good eatin'!

East Canyon is not a very good shore fishing lake, if you can get a boat and do some trolling.

Thanks. I actually found two of them at FishTech yesterday. They have the pink one with polka dots and a tiger chartreuse.
