Just a quick hello, I'm new to the site and pretty new to fishing in general. Did a bit as a kid in Delaware, and some ice fishing in Maine, but have recently gotten a spinning rod and trying my luck here in Idaho. I'm making a lot of rookie mistakes, but having a lot of fun as well. I'm located in the Rexburg area. Looking for to learning what I can. Also hoping to get my kiddos involved (4 and 2)

Welcome to the site! There are at least a dozen guys on here from rexburg who frequent the site so you should find plenty of help and info when needed.
I am a student at BYU-I and leaving in a few weeks but I'm willing to share some ideas with you.
Take the kids to the nature pond in town. You can catch rainbow trout all day on just about anything. Rexburg is a great place because you're only 30 minutes from awesome fishing in every direction
P.S. Get a fly rod and fully enjoy the blue ribbon rivers that surround this area
