Hi guys (and girls),
I'm wondering, has anyone floated the lower section of the Blackfoot River? I'm talking about the section that flows through the canyon. From google earth it looks pretty rocky and that there aren't many access points. Any thoughts on the topic would be great, thanks.

If you are talking about up near the dam the first section is supposed to be pretty mellow and easy. I think it is Corral? Coral? Creek is where it gets pretty gnarly. 5 miles or so If I remember right. It is posted up there if I remember right and I have heard that elsewhere. I have not floated it but have been told it's a great float and could do that first section on a SOT lake kayak.

Thanks for the info. I noticed that upper section closer to the dam and thought it looked like an easy float. The section I had more in mind was the lower part that runs through the deep canyon. It's the section below the last bridge.

Thanks! That has some good info.
I imagine it has some stellar fishing, probably from the difficulty of access!
