Deep Creek Reservoir..SLOW!!

Just got back from Deep Creek..Trolled about 4 hours ,2 dinks.One was hooked hard so it's going in the smoker, turned the other one loose to grow up a bit. Big bunch of Utards there camping and letting their kids ride 4 wheelers,s#@t and toilet paper alongside the road, 8 or 10 people standing on the dock,one in a lawnchair, can hardly get past them to go get the truck and boat trailer.How bout a border fence?

Had a similar experience lately at Devil Creek, but they were all from Idaho. The dock could barely stay afloat. These were grown men hogging the dock. Actually, I have had several experiences like this in Idaho, but rarely have encountered this in Utah. Hard to figure out.[]

I have to agree with you there. As was stated in the last Deep Creek report, its proximity to Malad brings out some very high quality people.

On a side note, I was just up in Lava with my wife, and there was a horde of men on ATVs going in circles in the road repeatedly right outside our hotel. Amazingly, they were from Idaho too.

Lava is bad this time of year. Deffinatly not the spot to be if your looking for peace n quiet. Thats why I live out side of town.. And seems how there is an atv and motorcycle rentle place in lava now its gotten even worse..

I also was at Deep Creek a couple of weeks ago. I had my wife and grandson out in our boat for the second trip of the year and second trip with the old but new boat for me.
A wind started to come up so we headed to the boat dock. We were the only boat all morning. There was only two people fishing and guess where they were. On the dock. I pulled in on the up wind side and my wife not being used to boats and does not have her sea legs yet was in the high anxiety mode when we were pulling in and was getting ready to get on the dock with the rope. As I eased in with the wind helping me my wife got very nervous and tried to get on the dock, got scared and threw the rope at the woman sitting in the chair. It was actually quite funny as the woman in the chair also got scared because she thought my wife was coming at her and was going to knock her out of her chair. The guy sitting with the woman did not even budge. We managed to get the boat tied up while we stepped over the tackleboxes and coolers the two people had all spread out on the dock. I do not know if they were from Idaho, Utah, or Malad. It really does not matter because I think there is rude and ignorant people from everywhere just like there is good and helpful people. I guess we just have to put up with them and not let them ruin our trip that we had.
Be careful and just try and laugh about it. That is what I did when I seen this last escapade.

I was afraid it was going to be bad. My wife booked the room as a surprise and didn't think about the summer rush. Things actually got a lot better toward evening. I actually prefer Lava in the cooler months as it's nicer to get into the hot pools then. On a side note, I'm really liking the Philly cheese steaks they're selling at The Wagon Wheel now. Those were dang tasty.

It's true, I have met obnoxious people at some point, both Utahns and Idahoans, at just about every place I've fished both north and south of the border. I pretty much expect it every time I go to Deep Creek though, and I've rarely been let down. I guess that's why I haven't been there in nearly two years.
