Finally got a weekend off so me and my 8 yr old got up and out by 6:30 ( no easy feat considering he reminds me<br />they only had Sun and Mon. to sleep in b4 school starts lol ) <br /><br />Put in by 7 am and went back to the ski course slough . 1 quick bluegill and then nothing for an hour . <br />Water was WAY up , highest I&#39;ve seen so far this summer . Throwing everything in the box by now LoL emoBang .<br /><br />Nothing they were hitting last week was doing any good , so i was watching a few of the other guys in the boats we were <br />passing to see what they were chunking in the water and seemed most were using spinner baits ..............<br /><br />So I tied us one on , under MUCH protest from the 8 yr old pro , ( he watches too much of the Bill Dance shows , where <br />good ole Billy catches a 5-8 pounder about every 3 minutes ) <br /><br />I got a nice 2 1/2 pd spat on the first cast , he got a even nicer 3 pd spat 2 cast later , that made him VERY happy . I made<br />a big fuss over his and even grabbed the big net to help him land it . <br /><br />By 10 am it was starting to get warm and counted 4 jet skis , 3 big ski boats , 1 HUGE houseboat all in about 5 mins and<br />figured it was time to do the boat ramp dance , to me , the worst part of the trip to the lake , especially without a licensed <br />partner to back the trailer in hehehe . <br /><br />But we hit it pretty lucky , only one waiting or trying to put in ............. finally slid around him and yanked the old Monark out and<br />headed home .<br /><br />Been a good run this spring and summer at parksville for the few times I&#39;ve been able to go . ( If you catch 1 of ANYTHING there ,<br />its to be considered a great day there LoL )<br /><br />I still can&#39;t figure out why a lake that looks so good , is so hard to fish ? <br /><br />Just was thankful I got to spend a weekend with my boy before school started back .<br /><br />Stay safe out there ! <br /><br />S.C. emoFish
