Haha! That was one of the greatest, truest, most motivational and downright praiseworthy ways of saying just how very inexperienced us young guns are!

Well said!

Congrats on the 25000th post, oh, and the full basket of fish as well.[Wink]

I need to start learning the ways of the kitty since I just closed on my house in Saratoga today. I'll be moving in this weekend and if the weather is good I might just take a quick trip to the knolls to see how well I do.

I have the right bait but am not sure I have the right lures. I guess we shall see.

[cool][#0000ff]Thanks. Congrats on the new home. Hope the move goes smoothly and that it welcomes you in fine fashion.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]PM me if you need any info on the Knolls. I am probably going to focus some trips on Lincoln Beach starting in a week or two. But the Knolls has always been nice to me.[/#0000ff]

TD how long have you been on the forum to generate 25000 posts. That is incredible especially considering the detail you put into your responses. Were you one of the founding members on BFT? If so you have sure helped build a great place to help educate the future generations of anglers. Thanks. J

[cool][#0000ff]Yeah, that's a whole lotta keystrokes. Blabber fingers.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]Looking at my profile reminded me that I just passed my 10th anniversary on BFT...since Sept. 2, 2002. As Kermit the Frog says..."See how fun times when you're havin' flies."[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]I have been involved with several boards on BFT, as either founder and/or moderator. I have even served as an admin a couple of times...keeping tabs on multiple boards. Lots of original posts and lots of replies. They really do add up. Fun, fun, fun.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]I have had the good fortune to have experienced much in fishyology and I enjoy passing along to others whenever I can. I'd like to think most of what I drivel out is useful but there are more than a few who think I overdo it. Sorry 'bout that.[/#0000ff]

Kudos as always. Love that your babe loves the action. (bit of fishy envy there - you know it! Can't even convince my 'ol lady to come relax in a chair a read a book! She likes books)

Glad them shore-tanglers didn't "shoot" back! Did you get their "vin" numbers?

You know what I like to say - "Smoke 'em if you got 'em" and seems - ya dun gotm again! Got a salmon going on the smoker tonight - thinnin' I oughta crack a pack out of the freezer myself (motivation! like I need it!)

As a young pup I look forward to TD posts... I am sure he has forgotten more than I will ever know. Well done TD and as always thanks for the knowledge and the great posts! Fish on my young friend!

[cool][#0000ff]Thanks. I read your post on your lost phone adventure. Sounds like you done good on the tigers. Fun fun. Glad your daughter recovered her phone. I have found a few soggy-muddy phones laying in the mud over the years...as waters recede. Seem to be a lot of them around launch ramps.[/#0000ff]

Nice work Tube Dude. I just finished some of the last "batch" of catfish you gave me after reading this thread. Been savoring it slowly actually and dulling it out tid bits to friends when they come over. It is classic to see their face when I say it was from Utah Lake!

Anyway about the FlyfishingLover stuff. I have had the pleasure and sometimes dis-pleasure of meeting, talking, and fishing with him on several occassions. Same can be said for the other 49 members I have persoanlly fished with. I think this board does tend to view anything and everything FFL says as attagonistic, arragont, and negative. Even if I racall right I had several fans/members on here that blew up on me everytime I made a simple observation of you or anyone else on here even if I ment it in a joking way or a positive way, etc.

That said maybe he has earned that by his previous wild days on here but in this case it was just a simple observation (not exactly harassment) that seemed to have been stretched to a new meaning. I think that the gang on here (not you tube dude) just read what they wanted to see instead of what was ment by his post.

To me he is a great friend that I will continue hang out with and fish with for many years to come. I don't always stick up for guys on here but ocassoinally I will when the situation is being turned into what it is not. This time I felt required to say something and maybe convey some different understandings to others on what was really going on here.

Some of the gang on here needs to take his posts with a grain of salt, wedge of lime, and a shot of Tequila.

[cool][#0000ff]No harm, no foul.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]My comments to him were as kindly and as much in jest as I could make them...and were not meant to slam him. As I told him in my response, I do admire his enthusiasm and his genuine passion for fishing. I cannot fault anybody for being excited about what he does and trying to share it with others. Got a bit of a streak of that in my own self.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]I have had some PM exchanges with the young lad long before his reply on my post. We actually discussed meeting up for some tubing together. So I did not really take any offense at his comments. In my opinion he was just poking a little fun but also suggesting some alternative fishing venues. If I was so thin skinned that I would be upset by that...well, I would be like a lot of other BFTers. [/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]He hasn't responded to my return fire, so we are either good or he was offended by my remarks. Hope not. [/#0000ff]

Tubedude......your patience, diplomacy and eloquence hold something we all can learn from. If that young FFG guy doesn't learn to idolize you, he'll soon go astray and wander the world aimlessly.[Wink]

[#0000ff]Actually, I have wondered if I am already a God for some time. Every time I show up somebody will say "Oh God...you again?"[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]And where I'm most likely to go it will be too hot for fishing. At least I'll be among a lot of my friends.[/#0000ff]

[cool][#0000ff]Thanks Dave but you kinda piled it on a bit thick. That post should earn you your BS, MS and PhD. You know what "BS" stands for. MS means more of the same. PhD means piled higher and deeper.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]Appreciate the kindly comments but I wouldn't worry about our young angler. He is well on his way to becoming as bad as we are.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]Now go play with some big hook-jawed, full fall color brookies. I heard that marabou jigs work pretty well for them.[/#0000ff]

Congrats to all, TD. Including your kind hand on the keys.

One thing we old dogs have learned is that all puppies are boisterous and energetic. A certain degree of forbearance towards them is needed - and will be rewarded.
