Bassrods do you happen to have a copy of the proposed agenda you could attach. I looked on the DWR site and it only shows the 1 Nov meeting and I see no agenda to review on what will be potentially discussed. I'd really like to review the agenda if at all possible.

First of all, the fishing RAC meetings have been completed in the previous two weeks. There are no more for the year. What you are referring to the Wildlife Board meeting that is indeed on November 1st at 9:00 AM.

Second, I don't see an agenda published yet for the WB meeting. Perhaps you would like to share with us how you know this change will be discussed? It wasn't on the agenda of items under consideration for this years RAC meetings and wasn't approved at the RAC meeting I attended. (it is possible it could have been passed at another RAC,)

FYI. The proposal to change the spearfishing regulations to be the same as hook and line angling; i. e., 12 months of the year, all legal waters, was presented at a couple of the RAC meetings during the past two weeks. However, I do not believe that either RAC made a formal recommendation on the proposal.

Because no formal proposal was forthcoming from the RACs and the idea has not been part of our public process this year, the DWR is not proposing this change for 2013. The Wildlife Board does take comments during the meeting and can include items not in our recommendations, but it is relatively rare that they do so.

We encourage all anglers to be part of the process and are welcome to attend any of the RAC or Wildlife Board meetings which are related to fishing topics.

I have not seen the final agenda for the November 1 Wildlife Board meeting, but they usually start around 9 am.

We should have the final agenda in the next couple of weeks. People who are interested in the process should keep an eye on our website www.wildlife.utah.gov or should email me if they want more information on the time, location or topics of the board meeting.

Thanks,

Paul

The RAC meeting I attended in Springville, spear fisherman proposed a year 'round season. They did not ask for 24 hr. The Utah bowfishing association was asking for the use of lights so they can shoot carp 24 hrs.

I've been told a lot of things over the years...some I find to be bs, some I find to be partly true, sort of. It's kind of hard what to believe anymore [:/].

I work as the Coldwater Sportfish Coordinator for the DWR.

Either myself or other DWR employees will post information on the agenda for the November 1 Wildlife Board meeting as it becomes available.
