Drift Fly Rod

I was wandering around on ebay today and found this rod for sale..

does anyone have any idea what or how it is used ? Is it simply a longer rod that is used while you are in a drift boat??

FG says that someone posted on this type of rod with a video a while back... anyone remember it??
