Have made some good money over the years pulling people out of that very situation in that same spot.

For a few years the state parks got real nasty with their tickets for people driving down onto the lake bed like that.

Yeah. That lake (reservoir) bed is covered with archeologically significant artifacts. I guess that truck is adding more silt, or sediment than the Provo River..... Not. Or maybe it is polluting more than the bazillions of wave runners, boats, and skiers.

But if the state can find a way to make money off a ticket, they're gonna give it, right or wrong.

Crap, that's not even a good area to walk around. It tried to eat me once. Got my net, but I was lucky enough to get my legs back.[crazy]

This reminds me of a time I was float-tubing Silver Lake Flats Reservoir, on Memorial Day a few years ago. The water was high, and this one guy with his family had driven all the way around the lake to the east side. I think he thought he could ultimately drive up onto the dam to complete his drive around the lake. But there was a big rock on the bank in his way, and there were trees to the uphill side of the rock. The only way to keep going was to go into the water (or to turn around and go back, but I digress). I thought to myself "don't do that" as he drove into the lake. He must have thought the water was shallow and the slope of the bottom was gradual, but he was wrong. The water engulfed the bottom half of his car, and lapped at his windows. He was stuck. I soon left, and wondered how he was going to get that vehicle out of the lake. Someone or something got it out, because it was not there the next time I fished up there.

I saw a guy do that at Kens Lake in Moab a few days ago. He got himself out after an hour of trying.

I have to admit Ive done this myself, I knew this might be the last time Id drive the ex's Lexus ( that practically paid for) . So I took the Lexus rx400 up through Corner Canyon hitting every puddle and embankment that I could. I seen puddle about 5 feet wide at the time no way to tell how deep it was. Floored the gas and hit the puddle the entire front end dug in, My buddy in his jeep said the back went up in the air and the entire vehicle was in water. As soon as I open the door a ton of water flowed in up to the top of the seats. The lexus died no restarting it...

I jump out got in my buddys jeep and left it there. hhehehehe.
