He can load his freezer up if he wants - as long as it's only one limit per days worth. You can limit out every day and have 100 fish in your freezer if you want.

2012 NV State Fishing Guide,p.8:

Possession Limit vs. Daily Limit:
In this state, there is no distinction between a "daily" limit and a "possession" limit. There is simply a "limit." There is no ‘adding up’ of "daily" limits to establish a "possession" limit. An angler may not have more than one limit in possession. ... Likewise, if an angler fishes the same body of water two days in a row, he may not take the limit the first day, then go back and keep fish again the second day unless he has first consumed or given away some portion of his first day’s catch. that is actually incorrect. You can have the lake limit in your posession. Which would mean your refrig. Yet, i highly doubt they will come to your home and see how many you have in your freezer.
So if the lake limit is 3, you better not bring anymore home until those 3 are out of your frig.
I thought what you said in your quote was correct until Fish and Game checked our freezer up in sunnyside which we had been there for a week. We had 26 trout in our posession which was 16 more than the legal limit since the lake daily limit was 10. We explained to them that we had been there for a week and we had caught these over that time. That is when he explained the law to me.
it is very confusing but i am telling you, if you get caught with more in your "POSESSION" than the lake limit regardless of how many days they were caught over, they will ticket you. Costs me 250.00 bucks

Well, I stand corrected. Sounds like a dumb law to me. You can't bring home more fish til you give away what you caught? Yeah, I don't get that one.

That "in possession" part regarding the limit of fish has been in effect and enforced since the early '50's that I know of. I used to go out with the White Pine County warden a lot back then and distinctly recall a serious confrontation he had on Baker Creek one time. There was a group of local fishermen from the Ely area that had ridden horseback into Baker Lake and camped overnight. We just happened on them as they were loading up to come home. When Bob checked their fish, a couple of the guys had over 15 fish which was the limit then. They explained that they had caught some of them the day before. Bob explained the limit was 15 daily or in possession so he cited them. They got madder than he--. I remember one guy screaming something about the limit being 25 just a year or so before so why was he being so chickensh-- about a few fish.

it is very stupid how they word it, but i am telling you if you are on a trip that is 2 days or more, only keep what the daily limit is, because they will ticket you big time if you are over.
What made me even madder was the 10 fish I was over were all still alive in a live well. I offered to take them back to the lake and they said "to late".
they also took all the frozen fish we had and said they would donate them to the ely senior center.

Here is another confusing part of this law. A while back, I was fishing at Floyd Lamb and found out from a game warden that the 3 limit applies even if you gave fish away on that day. For example, if you catch 3 fish (which is the limit) but give one away, it still counts as your limit. It also counts as a limit fish to the person you gave the fish. Go figure!
