Willard help

I was hoping to head up to Willard and try for some Wipers. Is the bite still on or has the water cooled down to much. I also have no clue how to go about it, what to use, where to go. If the Wipers are not biting are the cats or smallies or Walleye going right now? Thanks for any and all ideas.

After today about all you can hope for are the crappie. There are still some eyes to be had, but this is as tough as it gets till prespawn on the eyes and crappie.

We will be on a boat. We are launching from the north Marina.

I would forget about fishing Willard this year. You might be able to catch some cats but even that will be tough imo. I've been out there twice this week with no luck at all. I thought yesterday would have been the day but zip[unimpressed]. I haven't given up yet and I have high hopes that the eye bite will turn on before years end but I've had limited luck this time of the year.

I've being focusing more on the cold water fisheries as of late because willard has slowed down considerable in the last month or so. If it was me I would be trolling smaller cranks like rattle traps and dropping the speed down. No need washing lures at mock speed this time of year. But that's just me. Good luck!

The crappie are posted up on the structure right now. SLOW retrieves, west dike has some "spots". Walleye are kind of free swimming underneath the shad. Just real tough with the front coming through. The wipers are all over the place, hard to nail anything down right now. Sorry I could not be more help. Still some action to be had long lining shallower cranks as well.

It sounds like Willard might not be worth the trip. Any ideas where to got tomorrow, we were planning on taking out a boat.

I would Chase the troutskies up at the berry if you were inclined to drive that far. Lost creek is warming up, but I do not know the launch conditions. The perch are starting up and Hyrum has tons of slimers. Lots of possibilities, just not Willard post front.
