What adapter....it's just a piece of hose. You bought the Madison didn't you?
If you get a 12V pump, be sure you top off the toons by hand.
Troller had one Saturday that worked pretty well and cheap. Maybe he will jump in and share which.

I tried with the pump that came with my fishcat 4, its a double hand pump its pretty universal or so I thought you put the hose to the valve but no air enters the toon.

maybe im wrong but the Halkey Roberts valve has a center pressure pin that has be pushed in to inflate and deflate

They have the push then twist valve stem. I never used the adapter on mine, just a piece of tubing on the double action pump like Walmart carries. I pumped mine up in the closed position. The force stroke of air pushed the stopper in, plus don't loose air when you stop.
My X5 has Halkey.

Im pretty sure you have NFO's newer toons on the X5. I talked to the guys at NFO was curious about the warranty and what PSI do I inflate the toons too ect ect

From the sounds of it NFO doesn't make the toons like they did on the Madisen from the research Ive done trying to find a pump im getting there was a older style and newer style of Halkey Robert Valves.

On the bright side NFO said they would warranty the toon up until they couldnt read the Dave Scadden logo on them Smile

I bought the $19 one at Sportsmans and it pumps my Renegade up to about full. A few dozen pumps with my K Pump and it's good to go.

We should hit the berry and I'll show you how I do what I do.

I remember back in the day when the MP was often deserted. I miss that. Glad to see you had a flashback to the days of yore. I'm jealous, I was at work all day [frown]

You are forgetting we had the Expedition, the Excaliber, and two 2000 Cardiac Canyons. The only time we used that adapter was on the SFC. But if that is what you need, go for it. The valve should still be a push then twist to open. That Madison is newer than the Cardiacs.
We are able to hold a K-Pump up to the valve on the X5 and pump it up. We got the X5s in 2007.

Hmm strange I tried it after your post the adapter was 10 bucks so I was thinking if I dont need it Ill return it but I push and twist the center pin in put the hose in the valve start pumping and some air goes in but the majority just goes out of the valve ???

this is the pump i have

I am not sure what is going on. I am sure there are old and new Halkey, but, I am pretty sure the Cardiac Canyon was out the same time as the Madison. Even the Expedition was pre Madison. All of these boats I have never used that adater.
I have a couple of these pumps, note the end
http://www.northforkoutdoors.com/Images/pumpalt.jpg

To that end I attach a 3" piece of clear hose
http://www.northforkoutdoors.com/Images/...teralt.jpg

Now it takes a little wiggling and some times spit to get this hose in the valve, but once there, it is snug. No air escaping and hands free.
I am betting this process will work with ANY Halkey valve were as the adapter may not.

As for my LVM pump

One of the ends included fits right in the valve however, it does need to be open valve. That is why Dave now uses Bravo valves as they can be inflated with an LVM open or closed.

My K-Pump, has a little blue cap that also fits right in the valve. A kiss if you will. But it will inflate the boat by just pressing it against it.

Huh. I noticed that last time I was on the MP too. I rolled in about 11 and had to park in the boonies there were so many cars there. By the time I had my waders on everybody was leaving. Like they all had a party to go to??

That was OK with me since the BWO hatch started an hour later. Watched them refuse fly after fly until I put on my tiniest #20 and #22s. Some of the most pleasant fishing I've ever had on the MP. How I love/hate that section in so many ways...
