Crazy at pineview
#1
I went to pineview yesterday. We got there at seven thirty. Right as i put my line down, i already had a fish up in thirty seconds. I ended up with seven and too many bites missed. My dad ended up with thirteen and a whole bunch of bites missed. We only fished till ten though. We fished the south side of cematary point.[fishin]

Good to see that you got into the fish. Perch?

If you didn't have spring bobbers on your rods, get some for your next trip. You will get a lot more hook ups.

The bite is so light, you may not feel it. The bobber will detect a bite that you can't feel. Set the hook at any movement from the bobber.

Fish within 6" of the bottom. Drop the line down till the jig hits the bottom. Then lift the rod up just enough to have the jig 6" to less than 1' off the bottom. This will get you the most hits.

You may already be doing this so if you are, this is for anyone else that may want to increase their hook ups for Perch.

I had that problem last year on my first trip to pineview so I bought a light ice pole and it worked perfect you could see the lightest bite

Sliding bobbers also work good, you can adjust your depth and pick up the smallest bites. Works good for almost any lure and any fish.

Good for you icefishingman! I took a couple first-time ice fishers out to pineview sat for perch. They kept missing a whole lot more bites than they had of hookups.

Although I usually do good setting the hook at first tap, sat I did better if I waited until the first nibble became a more firm take.

I'm glad to see you take your dad out fishing, and it's even nicer to let him catch the most fish! Hope you guys have many more fun trips.

About the only why we can tell how old a member is, is if they put it in their profile under Personal Description.
I'll have to say you do very well for being 11, keep up the good work.[Smile]
