Provo river, Weber river, or diamond fork??

I haven't fly fishing that much this winter only less than a hand full of times so I'm just curious where would it be best for some good fishing as well I just wan't too get away from ice fishing a little bit. As well I've never fished diamond fork ever, barely hit weber river, and had little luck on provo I'm planning too hit one or the other on Sunday or Monday.

As well what are the fish hitting on lately.

I'll be hittng the middle tommorrow... Most of my luck has been on para Adams or gnats during a hatch and then midges and sow bugs the rest if the day. Go really small on the midges 22-24, sometimes an 18 will work as well. Leech patterns have been doing pretty well in slow water also olive buggars have been producing as well. Get off the ice and pick up that fly rod!! You won't be disappointed...

The ogden river parkway is always a good place to get rid of cabin fever. But you have to fish extremely stealthy this time of year.

Here's my take
Weber easiest to catch fish and most likely to catch some bigger one especially on streamers but also on nymphs.
Diamond Fork can be spotty catching especially this time of year but the river below 3 Forks has bigger fish overall than any stretch of the Provo. Crowds are seldom a issue.
Provo crowded especially on nice days but best chances of midge hatch if you want to fish dries. The Lower Weber also has some descent midge hatches this time of year.

If you live close to AF river why not go fish above Tibble? I get a kick out of how stupid those stocked bows are even after overwintering. Hard not to catch a dozen of those an hour plus maybe a few browns and cutts in the mix if you use a little stealth.

Ya I would hit af river up tibble fork but my favorite spots are still closed and not really worth walking 2-3 miles up the mountain too my good spots.

After thinking for a second the water is open and the tube of death might want too catch some fish as well might find those monster browns down there in the mean while.

Thanks for making me thing about tibble fork ha ha ha ice is mostly gone so I might just hit that place because it's so close. As well don't forget there are some nice 16-18" bows that I caught through the ice on my fish tibble fork trip on the ice and the only ice trip this year there ly.

Too much snow to fish far up but I just start where the river flows into Tibble and work my way up from there this time of year. Can break out the tube and do wading on the same trip.

Ya to walk. I will wait till spring or summer time to hit high up and I hope the roads dont get worse like last summer ehhhh too many ditches they should at least put some dirt and rock so people like me that don't have a huge truck can get up there [].

Hey FFL I hope that wasn't you fishing up from Tibble at 3 pm today as I walked down the road with my dogs. I didn't have any plans to fish this weekend but my son baled on me and went snowboarding with a friend. I probable fished after some else as well because the bows were spookier than normal (plus fresh prints in the snow that I traced in many places). Caught 3 bows, 3 browns and 1 cutt. I'm ready for spring, the wind blew like crazy and the 35 degrees out felt like 10 degrees at times.

Ya I was in my tent. I couldn't go to Provo because someone hit my dog so my dad took her to the hospital when she was in shock then she died. I was stuck down there for a while. Went home and decided to hit tibble too clear my mind a little bit but ya I will be hitting deer creek and Provo tomorrow.

So there is still safe enough ice for you and your tent? How did you do? So sorry about your dog.

4-5" of solid ice. Caught at least 10-20 bows only. They were really spooky today. I was watching them take my bait but it looks like they were sniffing the bait instead.

She was 14 years old so she could of had a few more years. It truly sucked coming home and not seeing a big .

Fished the weber for a few hours today got well over 30 I concentrate on the middle section myself because we have access to some spots, they liked the disco midge and any color zebra midge

Thanks for the info but I'm hitting the provo river to a few spots that I went to before the lake iced up. If provo river doesn't make me happy I will be a happy camper in the middle of deer creek.

I mainly fished the river but the bows gave my fly a lot of looks and not so many bites as well. I did fish the open part of the lake for maybe 15 minutes but had no takers. Sorry about your dog. I was the one with the large white and black border collie and small black lab mix. My border collies is also 14 years old. She was slowed by knee surgery 20 months ago but has recovered amazingly in the last 6 months. She back to hiking and hitting streams with me. Last weekend I covered a good 8-10 miles round trip between hiking and fishing and she was a champ. With that wind I thought you guys with the tent were smart to have it along.

Ya true man. I'm excited when all the ice and snow is gone out of my way so I can hit the good parts of the river as well I snowboard so I still want snow. Ya it's hard losing a dog especially when you were 3 years old and growing up with that dog. Second worst feeling in life so far ha ha ha.
