Gnorth, the warrior princess and I felt the burn at bear lake today. Yesterday we fished off the pump house in 21fow. Fishing for cuts and whitefish wast on the ice and fished north of the rock pile in excellent see bear lake Saturday post. Today we were the first on the rock pile and set up in 85 FOW. Marked fish at 72 no go. Marked ifs n on bottom the y would lose interest and move off. Moved into 50 FOW for more of the same. Moved to the area by the road north of the rest area. Fished 72' FOW same thing one good bite. Using every gitzit know to man, kast masters, Swedish pimples, northland rattle spoons nada. Everything tipped with Cisco. Did mark to schools of Cisco by the road and one of the bites was at the end of the school. Mile high blue sky's at the end of a cold front. Good luck.y

Well I didn't fish bear lake this weekend but I did go to fishlake last Sunday[sly], we did great at 20 feet along the weed line for both bows and perch with a splake occasionally, small ice flies with perch meat seemed to be the best bait.
I also fished out in 70 feet of water for a few hours picking up a couple of small lakers, nothing big but seen a lot of fish on the vexilar. Good luck hope this helps.

Made it out on the ice around 730 this morning and started in about 15 feet of water and caught a few smaller rainbows but we wanted to catch something a little bigger so we moved out to about 30 feet of water. The fishing was not hot but steady using a white jig and some perch meat on the bottom the biggest fish we caught was a 1.5 lb Splake. Decided to call it a morning around noon. It was a good day fishing.

You did better than we did yesterday. We got to the lake around 9 am. It was a white out across the Saddle before you drop down into the lake basin. The lake looked absolutely miserable. The wind was howling and the snow was blowing across in giant sheets. There were only a few brave souls out there. We just didn't want to fish that bad. We headed back down without even trying. The white out on the way out was even worse. We had to push a 4' drift on top to squeek by the plow. Hope the weather this weekend is more hospitable. Glad you all had a decent day.
