I know its a brand name but everyone knows what they are.
I usually only use the 3" or 3.5" ones. I can't see using one of the huge ones here in Utah. Well maybe at Powell. I'm just curious what sizes you keep in your box.
My personal favorite is the 3 in Maniac Salt sticks in a Changeable craw or green pumpkin pearl.
Whats yours?

I'll bite. I'm eager to get after some bass again and this helps with the withdrawals.
I pretty much use only 4 inchers and I fish senkos a lot. You might find that you get bigger fish going with a bigger lure, but I'd also say that even the little rats will hit a 4 readily. The only place I prefer a 3 is Deer creek and I suppose that isn't surprising, since DC is full of smaller smallies. I've dabbled with 5's at lake X with variable success.
As for colors, don't be afraid to try new stuff if you aren't getting bit. You might be surprised. My "favorites" now are much different than what I would list 5 years ago, and I don't think the fish have changed much. I'll throw ya a bone. Since you like changable craw, try changable craw with the yellow tail. Smallie candy at Jordanelle.

I usually go with 6" senkos, sometimes 8". If the fish wont hit I'll pinch some off and slowly downsize the bait. I've caught 10" smallies on 6" senkos.

If i'm fishing for fun or with novices I use 4 inch, when fishing for money i always use 5 inch. Watermelon or pumpkin in the Snake, cinnamon or smoke as the water gets clearer in other places. The whole thing with it is if you feel the bite you are to late,(watch your line and set hard) the big fish suck it in then spit it out then the little guys grab it. I've tried other brands, but its hard to beat a Senko, they have put more money in my boat than any other bait. One time I tried the 9 inch ones and caught 9 inch fish. Laminates work better of LMB. Tight lines. . . . Dale

RE" Laminates work better of LMB."
Word!, but smallies love certain combinations too!
The funny thing I've noticed is I tell some guys around here about laminates and they can't believe it and act like you are BSing them.

It all depends on where and what you are doing. IF you drop shot a Senko, then the 3-4 inch are best. For clear water, you can go with 4-6 inch. At the Gorge, the 5 inch seems best, while at Powell the 5 & 6 both work great. At Utah Lake, I would fish a 10 inch if I could find em., have to go with 7's or 8's. So, one size does not fit all !!! The big Salt Water Torah Tubes work great on Utah lake also !!! Black with Black and Blue flake !!!

Usually use I think 3.5" in different colors I buy the yum brand or I think a company called wave makes a senko style called tiki sticks.

I sometimes use the 3" for drop shotting, but I use the 4" most of the time for wacky rigs and T rigs. If I'm fishing a reservoir with a decent population of good sized largemouth, I'll throw the 5". It might be surprising how easily a 12" bass can suck one of those in.
As for brand, Yum Dingers and Bass Pro Shops Stik-Os are cheaper and more durable than Senkos. Also the Netbait version has been good too. I mostly throw natural colors, pumpkins, watermelons. I also really like baby bass laminates and a green pumpkin/orange swirl is tough to beat. My new favorite bait is one I make myself though.

I don't use salt to make it sink, but I got a new silicate based sinking agent that causes them to sink like they have salt in them, but they are much more durable and don't swell up in the fish if one eats it. I'm not trying to plug my bait (I don't have time to make them for more than personal use), but I just think they're a really good bait. You might be able to find some people who sell these on ebay. They're great on a shaky head too if you don't add anything to make them sink.

Thanks! They make good jerkbaits in the spring too. I tried to post another pic, but for some reason it didn't show up. Oh well, here it is.

that is a great looking bait!!! Thanks for the responses.. I'm going to over haul my load out when I go fishing. I'm going to give the bigger baits a shot. I know the saying bigger bait bigger fish but never really put it to the test.
Thanks

Thanks! That one is a 5" btw, though it is a slender version. I tend to prefer the slender Senkos too. They seem to give you a little more action.

Ditto to what Wizzle sed! Nice.
Maybe we need to look at swapping a Coyote Cap Spinner for a GStott phattie! Never tried pouring plastics, but could see it happen. Then comes the lead. . . ugh. I need a SHOP!
So you guys going wacky or lengthy with these pup? I got some freaky plastics, jig heads, skirts, and some lengthy tails. Had some good outs with some Gulp Claws on a shady head bounce off bottom. I think these other rigs will draw the same fish.
Been learning to love the pumpkin colors. Good deal!

I wouldn't mind passing a couple of baits your way. I have done well fishing them on a wacky rig and on a weightless Texas Rig. You can fish them fast and walk them across the surface like a Zara Spook. then kill them next to likely cover and let them sink on the T Rig. Btw, I agree, soft craws fished on a shaky head can be awesome. I like to use a football shaky head and fish them around rocks for smallies at Oneida. If this nasty snow would go away and it would warm up again, I'd go give it a try.

About size....
if you are fishing for largemouth bass, they have no clue how big they are in relation to what they are about to eat. I have caught several bass that are smaller than the lure I used to catch them.
having said that, I have caught more fish on the 5" senko than any other bait. I use the 3-4 " only when the bite is tough or for drop-shotting (smallies) The only reason I don't go bigger on the senko, is the cost of a 6" or 7" senko is high and there are fewer in the package than a 5".
one last thought...
The WAVE tiki sticks are the ones I go with, they are by far the best ones I have fished and I have fished the strike king, yamamoto, and Yum versions pretty extensively.

It's interesting that everyone has their own favorites. So much for absolutes in bassin.
Question for anyone out there. Have any of you guys tried the yamamoto "swim" senko with the tail on one end? I've seen those in the catalog and have been intrigued, but haven't ponied up and bought a couple of packs yet.

I have, I cut the little paddle off and put them on a swim jig. other than that I had no success with them as a bait.
