Hey i'm new here looks like a great site. I'm making my way up to Sagle the first week of July from SoCal for my sons wedding and plan on camping one night and fishing Owyhee river and then heading up 95 to Sagle over the next few days. Hoping to get some advice on where to fish along the way. I'll be with a buddy of mine and my other son and we float tube and stream fish for trout mostly.. Spincast toss out lures . Fly and bubble rig. Any help would be appreciated.

Can't help you with Sagle, but any of the fly fishing stores in Boise can help you with Owyhee. Since it is in Oregon, there is limited interest on this site. I never see reports. Fly fishing purists locally however hit it regularly. Just call a local shop. Mike

Maybe if you titled your post a little more appropriate, you might get some more willing people to provide you with information!!

Some might think New Guy would be appropriate enough! Why does it have to be the F word in front of it?

The Owyhee river has plenty of good spots to hit.
Stop at the owyhee store on your way up (at the junction on hwy 20/26), and talk to Jimmy or Janice, they may be able to give you some current info.
Keep in mind though, water's short around here, so there won't be much of a flow in July. Rumor has it they're at 50% capacity right now.
There are a few deep-ish pools on the way up. by the bridge, above & below the hot spring, and right by the park below the dam, just to name a few.
I haven't fished it in quite a few years, so I can't comment on how the fishing is. but over the past few years I've seen flyfishermen on the river all summer, all up & down it.

Monkee thanks for the info. I didn't know the water flow was down. The salmon river looks like it's full of oppurtunities. Just don't know about any tributaries off the highway we might hit, Also CDL looks like a beautiful area. Boy if I offended anyone with three simple letters of the alphabet i'm truly sorry .

Your right some might have trout that but others might not have. It was just the letter F. Didn't offend me.

My bad!
The store is on Hwy 201, not 20/26. And to think I grew up a few miles from there! Guess the mind is the second thing to go. (My 6-pack migrated to the fridge years ago LoL!)
