I stopped by just to have a look at the water conditions on the way home from work two weeks ago, and saw several tigers sunning in the shallows in the few minutes I was there. I really wish I'd had a rod with me. After that it got cold and snowed, but I would imagine they're back shallow again with this nice weather.

Um, excuuuse - me - didn't have a rod with you? REALLY?! what kind of angler ARE you? I can get not having fresh worms, but not even a spinner, or plastic grub handy?

It's like they say in the of commercials - "don't leave home without it"

Of course - if or when my rig gets busted into, I'll be singing the allstate jingle for sure.... "can you replace all, my overpriced cranks!"

I should document, but then the 'ol lady might know how much Cabelas has earned! Is it a bad thing when they send you the hard-back "annual catalog"?

So - is the water warming then?

I suppose you never know when you might need it, but I don't like leaving my stuff in the car. It's hard on the rods, the line, and I don't want to tempt anybody to break in and steal it. I'm kicking myself for not going back the next day though. Instead I floated around in Preston looking for bass and only got a few small rainbows to show for it. I'm going to give it another shot tomorrow though.

You know I'm teasing Greg! How are the water levels up Preston way? I was hearing Foster got filled, and some of the others were up some too.

It'll be interesting to see how Condie responds to the drain and birding-cleanup! Reallly need to see about planning a venture to some smallie/walleye waters up that way!

Maybe I'll patch the old inflatable for some small water adventures. Been a while!

Maybe after my greyling run this weekend I may have to plan on going to newton to.try and knock tigers off my list. Pineview hasnt ever been nice enough to me to help with that goal.

I know, it just seems like I should have a rod ready at all times with how nutty I am about fishing.

I haven't seen all the waters up that way yet. Two weeks ago Winder and Foster looked full, and Johnson was very close. I was going to check Glendale, but didn't manage to get over there. I hear Condie is full, so hopefully they can get some fish back in there and get it back on track.

I just might go chase some smallies and eyes tomorrow. They should be a little more active than the largemouth, but then it is a much larger water with way more water coming in, so it may be colder and murkier. If I don't go there I'm thinking the smallest waters in the area since they'll warm up the quickest.

Jeremey, Newton is a good bet for tiger musky. It is much smaller than Pineview, and they seem more willing to play.

Went out there last friday!!! Not such good news! The lake is very low ramp is barley in the water. There is no upper end at all! most structure is out of water. And water temp was 37 degrees. Cant imagine much has changed other then i bet the temp is in the40-45 deg range now. They better be careful this year pulling water cuz its not looking like its even going to reach close to full pool. oh well who likes t musks anyway!

That's good to hear. Sounds like we'll have several places to fish in the coming months.

damned toothy beasts - just wanna steal your perch, and rip off your cranks. Entertaining and all, but . . . rather tangle with big bass, and a load of perch, maybe some crappie. Found some decent bluegill and sunfish last year too.

So do they "feed" that lake, or just dependent on runoff? If it stays so low, maybe the powersquad will avoid it! Dam lake needs a wakeless designation! Ramp sure it trashed. (let it be! let it beeeee, let it be, let it be! Whisper words of wisdom - let it be.)

Personally, I actually had to give my 5-piece travel rod to my father. I quickly came to realize that having fishing equipment on hand in my truck was an excellent way to tank my business. Wink

I love how you state that as if you have any idea or experience on the matter. Lol

I may not have fished till my hands hurt (thought that's a lie, I've fished till EVERYTHING hurts - right it's my face, from stupid lack of sunscreen!)

I may not have caught a state-record bass, but I've tangled with a few. But ya gotta understand - when I'm talking about a Big Bass - it's blue and well strung!

I hear three people in a bed is called a threesome, a pair is a twosome. Guess that's why they call you HandSome, no?

You playing with Preston these daze?

What on earth good is having it well strung if it's blue? Something ain't right.

I went out like 3 weeks ago and wet a line for an hour one evening. That's it, though. The business and family consume 110% of my time in the spring, so I miss out on early fishing. I might be hitting the water in a couple weeks if the planets align for me and I can knock things out in an efficient manner...
