What Fish is This?
#1
My brother Eddie, caught this huge fish, we have no idea what type of fish it is! All we know, is that it could be some type of cross-breed. Does anyone know what kind of fish this is? He caught this out on Great Chazy River in Coopersville, New York.

No idea but I am going to move this post to the freshwater board where more anglers will see it.

I've never heard of a Tench, what family of fish does that belong in?

Just what we need: ANOTHER damn carplike trash fish.

Cyprinidae. I guess it's the same family as Carp, and true Minnows. Doesn't surprise me, it definitely has the mouth like a carp, but who knows. I think Chubs are in the same family, at least according to the classification.
