Ogden River Caddis HATCH?
#1
I went up to south fork on the upper Ogden River saturday. Not only was it crowded with campers and kids playing in the water. It was snowing Caddis EVERYWHERE. How are you supposed to fish the river when the river surface is completely covered in CADDIS?No fish were rising, i'm assuming they were already full to their gills! I'm just curious if this is a good time to fish when their are caddis everywhere or is it mainly at the beginning of the hatch?
I fished for a bit no luck Sad

If there not rising most likely there feeding on nymphs or larva. Try throwing caddis pupa, or Nymphs like a hares ear or peeking caddis

Swinging a caddis pupa to imitate an emerger does well for me. And they it it hard!

This happened to me up on the weber... I literally had caddis going down my shirt. It was next to impossible to get them on top so a caddis pupa or chamois caddis will pick em up nymphing for sure.
