Nauticman, Upper Nick., 6 lb. 9 oz. LM Bass, Spots, Cats, 9/22/13, FirstLight
#1
My son took me fishing out of Riverpark today. Actually, it was more like he took me along as his netman. Let's get this out of the way, all I caught was an eater size blue cat and a couple of spots, even though I frontended him all day since he was running the trolling motor pointing up current. He caught a half dozen spots, a couple of small LM, a couple of hefty drum, a flathead and a 6 lb. 9 oz. largemouth. We both had some good strikes and fish on that pulled off. Re the big LM, he said, dad its another rough fish. About that time the fish exploded on the surface and he said: Dad, its a big LM and I can't keep him from jumping and I'm gonna lose him. Jump he/she did several times, but "netman" came to the rescue (I gotta have something to brag about). This fish fought like a beast. Congrats on a trophy LM, son!

We released all the fish. They were mostly caught on jigs with plastic trailers, some on tubes and one on a spinner bait. The big'un hit a jig/pig. The flow was 47K cfs and the surface temp was down to 75. We also contended with post frontal condition with a stiff North wind at times.
