spent a few hours out in the IDaho winter breeze today encouraging some perch to come check out our offerings. I had brought along a newbie to this wonderful sport and he did well and even landed a perch. We fished for about 3 hrs and came home with 9. A few of them 11 1/2" . First time out this year for me. Cold start but a good start.
The day ended much different than I had thought a fishing day would. I recieved a call from my sister that our mother that has become a victom of alzimers died quietly in her rocking chair today. I am so thankful our Lord took her with no pain or suffering. I aslo praise our Lord that this fall when I was able to get back to visit her He gave me a window where I know my mother recognised me and I got to feel her love. Our Lord is so gracious and giving and I know that my mothers mind is full of good things and great Joy. This will be a great Christmas! Thankyou Lord and I thank all of you for your prayers for me and all my brothers and sisters.

I'm sorry to hear that. How comfort it is to feel the Lord's loving embrace in such times of loss. Hope he continues with you and your family through this holiday season. Thank you for the example of positivity in the midst of trials. I know I appreciate it

Michael,
My thoughts and prayers will be with you this Christmas season. Having observed a mother who went through 7 months of literal hell on earth with cancer (like so many do) your mother's passing was indeed a beautiful way to depart this earth. Mike

Alzhimers is a horrible disease. It has claimed many of our loved ones. My heart goes out to you in your time of loss. When I lost my Grandmother she also had it. We had a very close relationship and it was hard to mourn. Someone showed me John 11:35 where Jesus gave way to tears when he lost his dear friend Lazarus. We all grieve in our own ways and the Lord set the perfect example for us, nothing wrong with us men feeling it during these occasions. I look forward to a time in seeing her again. There is a time for everything, a time to rejoice, a time to fish....a time to mourn. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time.

Can't add anything that hasn't already been so eloquently stated. So a +1 to all the previous comments.
Godspeed to her, and God's Peace to you and family. How wonderful you had chance to connect, and bid farewell. I've missed that opportunity with several lost relatives recently, and it a hard burden to bear. Count your blessings.
One thing about a death, it is brings together the living.
Prayers are with you Michael.

Sorry about your loss, I lost my mother to the same disease, she fought it for along time before she passed away. My son and I fished C.J. Friday and caught alot of little perch kept a dozen of the largest fish that maybe went 10 to 12 inches. We hunted the geese up there on the windy Sat. and ended up bringing 4 honkers home. God bless all of you and have a very Merry Christmas.

Were you in a white pickup truck? I think, I was set up next to you. I was the last one to leave. I caught 4 keeper perch (12inch) and a couple crappie. Sorry to hear about your mother. My grandmother past away a few years ago. She had Alzheimer's for close to ten years. I would visit her weekly sometimes daily. It was difficult to she her memory go. When she past away we all just thought how awesome it was that now her frustration was over. God bless and all the best this time of year.
