I fished it on Sunday for a couple hours and found plenty of perch. Caught more than I could count of the 4-6" type and a few 8". Also caught 5 planter rainbows that kinda suprised me. Caught all my fish on a small green ice fly fishing was fast a furious I was in about 15 FOW. Ice was plenty safe 8"+ road in was snow packed I used 4WD to get there. Good luck

Thanks for the report, I love Montpelier--I may try it as a break from the cisco run this year. With everything freezing so fast I am hoping for a couple of trip to Bear Lake this winter. Montpelier is great for kids!

I never have fished Bear Lake , but I want too . Would love to catch a big Mack for the ice fishing contest .

Is this the place that was really hot for smaller perch last winter? I recall seeing some posts with plenty of pictures of people, s and perch... Looking for a good "numbers" place to take the kids to.

That was the place . I have never fished it but it looks like fun .

Probably we caught as many last year when we would go but they do seem a little bigger this year not much but a little
