Beautiful day on Chesterfield. Sun shine all day long. All kinds of small fish bites. Iced at least 25 little guys. Sun was down and finally hooked a beast. I fish with two jigs per line and unfortunately the upper jig caught on the bottom of the ice and when he ran it tore hook out of his mouth. You definitely know when a big one hits. Almost took a five foot rod down the hole. Long run for a fat boy to get to the rod, never fails farthest rod. We did ice two in the sixteen range and had another one I would estimate at three to three and a half lbs. in the hole and lost. All went back to catch another day. Had to be 150 people on ice today, never seen so many for ice fishing. Great way to start the year though.
