Hope everyones fishing is going good! Christmas break is over so its time to start the new semester and get back to fishing. I happened to get a girlfriend for christmas who also lives near riggins so might even have to make a couple trips over that way! [cool][fishin]
I was trying to find reports online but it still seems like it may be a little early for the spring run steelies?
Just curious if its worth going out right now and if anyone has any reports on what methods are working best?

River is frozen from just below town to deadwater. Fish are in the wintering holes and the hatchery fish have been picked over pretty well. Have had some exceptional fishing on some of the warmer afternoons...........

So would you say that fishing during Febuary will be best below deadwater?
I have never fished the Upper salmon for steelhead and I plan on making a couple trips this spring. I used to fish the lower Salmon and S.F. Clearwater before moving south but those are just too far for me to reach now. I have fished the upper salmon around Stanley during the last couple Chinook seasons but I don't want to wait until the steelhead make it that far upstream.
Do you have any suggestions for catching steelhead in Febuary and March?

If its not worth fishing the clear water this year I might have to venture that way at least once this year.
Anyone have any reports for the clear water?

Brother in law hit the Clearwater last weekend. Landed 28 in a day and a half between 3 or 4 of them. Only two were hatchery though.

Any ideas on whats working? It sounded like beads were working well from the gentleman I was talking too but he said he wasnt positive just what his brother had been telling him.
Next weekend is my trap shoot off, so hopefully I can hit the river in a couple weeks. No class thursday may be nice. [cool]
