Suggestion Boat Motor Repair
#1
I have an older outboard 85HP Force, that has a funky idle, like one cylinder is not firing, but at full speed runs fine. Very hard to start, unless you manually mess with throttle plate and choke. I am not a fan of 2 cycle.

Suggest as to a boat repair place, that will look at older boats, and is reliable and fair.

I don't know where you live but the best repair place I have ever been is Lee's Marine in Hyrum. They do excellent work and their shop is super clean. good luck!

Lee at Lee's Marine is one of the few mechanics that will still work on older outboards. Top that off with his total honesty and reasonable rates and he can't be beat.

If it was me, I'd do a compression check, and if it has a dead hole scrap it. I don't mean to be discouraging but you might as well not spend money trying to fix what wasn't meant to be fixed.

As others have said Lee's Marine in Hyrum he and his wife Dixie are awesome folks and run a top notch establishment. One thing with Lee he's honest and if it don't need fixing he'll tell you. Even if you have a question give them a call and Lee will help you out.
