NE FL--Ride along advice?

Hi, I'm a fanatical saltwater fisherman who lives in Utah but has family in Jacksonville who I visit regularly, and I would welcome any advice on how I can hook up with boat owners to join them on offshore fishing trips in exchange for sharing the expenses. I know this is a common practice but I'm not sure how to arrange it. Could anyone tell me if there's an official or unofficial location and/or method where such arrangements are made, and what the protocol would be? I am interested specifically in boats in the NE FL area like Jacksonville, Mayport, and St. Augustine.
