The Berry - Friday May 16th
#1
Hey everyone, my name is Derek, and I've been following this forum for a while, but more as a spectator. Thought it was time for my first post!

I was itching to get to Strawberry after the Ice Off this past Friday, and went with my Dad and Nephew. We got on the water about 9am and the weather was perfect for about 30 min, we caught a couple nice cutts within the slot, and then the wind really picked up.

The wind finally died down around noon, and then the fishing got hot! I caught a couple nice 21" 3 lb rainbows with a Black Marabou Jig, and caught some great cutts that were just barely within the slot limit. The hottest lures for us were the Rainbow Scatter Rap Rapalas, and Black Marabou Jigs. We mainly fished along the shore around Haws Point.

Even thought the wind was a little bit of a hindrance, all-in-all it was a pretty good day!

Glad to see you post on the forum Derek! Great report, that was an impressive Cutt and a really fat 'Bow! What depths were you catching them?

Thanks Utah Lake Cats! We were jigging in 5 to 15 feet of water, and trolled with the rapalas in 20 to 30 feet.
