Cascade
#1
Headed to cascade for the week. My 5 year old wants to go fishing for his birthday. Taking the boat wondering how the fishing has been and what part of the lake is good right now.

Sorry but I haven't heard anything good. A few of the best bass guys on the lake have been blanking lately, I haven't heard much of decent trout or perch either. If you'll be that way I'd try horse thief and Little Payette as well, maybe even warm lake. Deadwood is not accessible yet, as of Thursday warm lake road was impassible to the summit.

[Wink][fishin]We were there over Memorial Weekend, we were in some of the good spot from the week before, told to us by friends, marked them on the finder but they would come up and play with us. However Sunday night when we got off at Cambell Cr boat ramp there were these 2 exsperience anglers in the easy chairs with 1/2 bucket of very respectable perch and were still catchin as we talked. So after loading the boat I grabed my rod, worms and proceeded to go fish the dock and landed in the neighborhood of 30 7-10" perch in about an hour, my wife just a few less.

I did visit with others who fished different areas that said after they found them they did well and some very well, but many did not find them, perch.

Fished today , 5-30. Caught a few nice perch in some different areas but never really could "find them".

Had probably the biggest perch I've ever seen in person to the boat, would have been a toad full of eggs during ice season. Anyways, was fooling around trying to get it in the boat, lifted it up and it snapped my line. Probably need to put some fresh line on the spool, but a big perch snapping the line makes for a good story. Glad she's back in the lake, might make for a new record next winter for someone!
