Looking to get some advice on bass fishing at Twin Lakes?
Heading up saturday but have never seen the lake.
I hear pitching can be good but that's not my gig. Anything else work well up there? Anyone doing any good lately?

Soft plastic jerkbaits and stick baits cast up into the flooded trees and brush are the most productive tactics for me this time of year. The vast majority of fish are utilizing this cover right now as far as I have found.

Appreciate the advice y'all.
I am actually fishing in the tournament on Saturday I just didn't get a chance to pre-fish the lake!
I've fished trees before so I think we'll be ok once we get a look at the lake. Just wanted to know if anyone had been doing any good lately!

I'm heading up there today, so I'll post tonight how I did when I get home. I'll be in a float tube though, so I won't be covering a ton of water. There are a lot of cottonwoods and big clumps of willow underwater there. Twin doesn't seem to have quite as much structure as some of the other lakes in the area. It's pretty much two big square basins. There's a little bit of structure where the two lakes join, but mostly it has large uniform areas.

Yeah that's kinda how it looks on google maps. Looks like there is a good channel between the two but other than that it's barren.
Not sure what's under the water in the ways of humps, structure, etc. so may just have to stick to the trees for this tournament.
I'd be interested to hear how you do tonight though. Good luck!

It was kind of one of the slower days I've had there. The fish just didn't seem hugely aggressive. I ended up catching 46 from 1230-730pm, but only got maybe 15 that would be keepers. Most of those were 14-15", I didn't manage anything larger. I did see a few in the 3-4lb range, but they were all just sort of aimlessly cruising the shallows and showed little interest in any of my offerings.
I caught a few on a bluegill colored spinnerbait early on, but most were on soft jerkbaits and wacky rigged Dingers. I did find a nice calm backwater in the evening which I just waded as I'd packed up my tube already. I was able to catch several of the better fish buzzing a weightless swimbait across the surface. I love topwater, so at least I got some on that. There was a lot of deeper brush there too that I'd be curious to try in my tube.

I forgot to mention, water temp was 68 when I got there. I didn't see any fish on beds either which kind of surprised me. A lot of the fish seemed kind of skinny, so I'm wondering if the spawn is over and done with.
