Flotilla 3 Go Time with prize
#1
Okay guys I'm the last minute type in case you haven't noticed. Anyway we will see you tomorrow between 6 and 7 the stagger launch will help us not be waiting. Anyway I got lined up with Blackstone camp gear and they are throwing in a fairly big prize and going to help with our grilling. Ryan is getting me the specifics but its going to be a great prize. Need your help for the best way to assign the winner of the prize whether its biggest fish, most fish or ugliest hat. Let me know some good ideas. We will start grilling at 11:30 will be deep frying fish thanks to everyone's donations. Putting fish in tortillas with some lettuce, cabbage, pico, salsa and etc. again we are doing a pot luck so if you are part of the volunteers please remember your stuff. If you haven't got one of the assigned items the chips pop or something else to nibble on would be great. We will have the grills, Dutch overs and stoves plus about 20 chairs so if you have room for a folding chair it would be great but not necessary. Just to make sure please reply back to this post with the amount of the following items you will bring:
Flour Tortillas
Corn Tortillas
Hard shells
Walleye
Wiper
Catfish
Other fish
Cabbage
Lettuce
Pico
Tomatoes
Limes
Spicy Italian salad dressing
Other sauce
Pop
Paper plates
Cooking utinsels
Other

I will bring cooking oil, eggs, milk, pancake mix and some spice mix for the fish. If you have a good spice mix we'd love to try it. I also have some really nice lettuce from my garden I'll bring. If I missed something please fill in. Thanks J

The boys and I will bring tortilla chips and a couple packs of flour tortillas. Do we need to drop that stuff off somewhere?

I think we'll get all the food stuff together and send one load down to where we'll eat. I'll bring a big cooler to put the refrigerated stuff in. Thank you. Jeff

That would be excellent if you would bring a bag of ice and if you can let me know how many pop and water that would be great. I think we will have around 30 people if all show, but we need to scatter the food across as many as possible so don't bring enough for the whole group just what is easy for you to do would be great. So I want to win this griddle it is so nice. More on it later when I get on the computer. Thank you Jeff

How a bag of ice, a partial case of bottled water (about 10 or 12 I think) and a 12 pack of soda. Any particular flavor,
kind of partial to Shasta Cream Soda myself.....but whatever you think can be used....

Should I drop the ice and water / soda at Benson Marina on my way in, or bring it to the launch point ?

Hey Jeff, do ya still need fish? I have a bag of fresh catfish fillets and I can bring cajun corn meal breading and shredded cheese if its gonna be tacos. I'm coming to Logan tonight by 7 pm so if you get this, let me know quick before I leave. I'll be watching for your reply. Also, I'll be fishing till 1:00 am or so, so I'll be motoring up to the kaunch from benson marina. Probably have room for another or two (must be a clean sort of person, if you get my meaning.I'm not the crude type) once I get to the launch in the morning.

Mike the catfish fillets would be great and the cajan breading and cheese which I forgot. Hey if you have a tape measure and time could you measure the clearance between the bridge and water level? Didn't have time to do that. Thank you so much and good luck. BLK got a 30" today keep the heat on him. We might need a spot for a ride along in the morning I'm just not sure if everyone will still be coming. Thank you so much for bringing stuff. If you need to refrigerate the cheese let me know I'll try and meet ya and pick it up. Thanks J

I got the kitchen pass and I'd love to come if anyone still has room in their boat. My wife thinks I am reasonably good company most of the time.

I'll bring an assortment of soda as well. Think I have about twelve cans.

I will be there for sure. I am unfortunately having problems getting my boat running. If anyone happens to have a spot that isn't filled and would like company I would be greatfull. I'll throw in some money for gas and share tackle if it is needed. I will check back on the board in a bit and see if anyone responds. Also I will bring some tortillas for the feast. Thanks, Chris.

Sounds great Richard. Thank you so much. Hey just talked to Sportsmans Warehouse and they kicked in 5 $10 gift certificates for prizes. I was too slow to get some from Al's but they were willing on longer notice. Anyway thanks again. J

Hey there will likely be a spot for sure so come. If nothing else the current will carry you 90% of the way and we can tug boat ya the rest of the way. Just checked upper bridge. There is 6' from water line to cement. Thanks for bringing viddles. J

Okay official prizes for: 1. Biggest fish by length caught on a pole. 2. Biggest fish by any legal means. 3. Most total fish as counted at the meal. 4. Greatest number of different species. 5. Smallest fish
Only one prize will be awarded to an individual so we can spread the prizes around. The big prize will be a random drawing from all participants. Later J

Jeff - you rock, sorry to chime in so late. Ended up with a full day at work, then took to the trailer lights and prep. I think I need new wires, my conjunction doesn't function. Didn't get to test fire Gertrude, but the fresh-treated gas is ready to go, and if nothing else - I've got electric and current (and kindness of strangers?) Oh, plus oars....

I will have a spot, assuming she fires up and I don't get stopped on the way out. I know some back roads, one goes right in front of the jailhouse...[crazy]

Last times I've checked, they had no certificates in the boxes, so here's a link to a printable PDF:
http://wildlife.utah.gov/mussels/PDF/self_certify.pdf

I'm going on a Bear hunt - and I'll bring:

Bag of Bacon ends and bits
some Tony Chachere's Bold Creole seasoning, and some Slap ya mama spice
Bottle of Herb and Garlic marinade
Some Kitty fingers and chunks - pre-filetted
some Smoked Kitty treats we can divvy at launch for snacking on board
I'll bring a filet knife too, just in case anyone actually catches anything other than carp. Presume you got a board Jeff?
I'll have a bag of ice in my cooler, so whatever's left can be shared later, unless it's all fishy!
Oh, and some carp minnows. They aren't fresh, but they've been well frozen.

AND BFT stickers for anyone who wants some. Just grabbed my freak flag, dig the new Avatar Tin-Can Man!
This should be fun. Now I should go to bed so I remember to get up! Wish I was in Mike's shoes, or boat, about now (except for the skeeters!)
