I wasn&#39;t going to fish today but my daughter was determined to try out the two Mojo Bass rods Jim (jmergen) picked for us at the factory. Thanks Jim....So went went out for a couple hours. It was her first lessons on how to use a bait caster. She did well with the heavier baits like swim baits and big jigs so the backlash was not bad. <br /><br />After I got her going I started throwing a spinnerbait over some grass in about 5 FOW. Picked up a nice 5-1 and a little later a 3.5 on a creature. <br /><br />Funny story here.... She had not caught anything and was joking that they didnt put enough mojo in the rod she got. I gave her a crank to throw over some deeper grass and after a few casts she said that crank was a lot of work and they were not hitting it and was getting ready to swap it. Made one more cast and the knot broke or something and it came off. We laughed and she said well I was taking it off anyway. As I started to troll over and get it, it blew up. A nice LM just exploded on it and it was gone. I never saw anything like that. I expected the fish to jump and throw it but nothing. It was pretty funny hearing her complain about it. <br /><br />Anyway. About 20 minutes later the fish jumped about 100 feet away and you could hear the lure rattle. A few minutes later the same thing... Then nothing. We moved down a few hundred feet and another boat came in where we were at. The fish jumped again right in front of those guys and I heard one of them say. That fish rattled when it jumped. Pretty funny at the time. That was the last time we saw it. <br /><br />So if anyone catches a LM with a Dt14 in its jaw. It&#39;s mine. <br /><br />Overall a tough day. Not many bites at all. Had what looked like a big fish blow up a sexy dog but it didnt stay on long.
