Deer Creek 'Eyes
#1
Hello, LONG time lurker, first time poster. (Couldn't find the introduction forum, but I've been here about three years attending a blue University in Provo, don't wanna disclose too much more for fear that I won't get help from my pals up to the north).

I'm trying to figure out the Walleyes there at Deer Creek. I bought myself a boat recently, and have been trolling all over the place like a madman. I've gathered from forum searches that the rocks on the west shoreline are the place to be, and that bottom bouncers and Rapala's should be working... am I missing something? I grew up in Minnesota and remember drifting leeches on Mille Lacs with my old man, but these Utah Walleye are decidedly different! I know I shouldn't expect hot fishing or multiple hookups, but is a few fish once in a while too much to ask? [Wink]

Thanks for the help gents. I really enjoy this forum and look forward to getting to know you all better.

Have you tried fishing Deer Creek at night?

wiperhunter,

I haven't fished it much past dark, mostly because the silly State Parks close at 10:00 and I haven't figured out how to launch a boat at DC short of paying their ransom and using their launches.

Don't worry about the 10 curfew. I've been fishing there all my life and have never been told to be out by 10. Some mornings we were loading up as the state park crews were showing up to work and the have been pretty cool about it. Just don't take a dog with ya. That's an entirely different story. [Wink]
