Any word from you Strawberry die hard guys about the cuts moving in by the shores ?. With all this cold weather. I would think they would start to move in. But I don't fish it that much, so I don't know. (long way to go) Any reports. I want to take a beginning fisherman up there to get him really excited about our sport. Throw some tubes and maybe try some flies off the fly pole. Thanks [fishin]

I was there on labor day and they were moving in then so they should be right in to shore by now. I caught quit a few just trolling along the bank with a mojo melon lure behind a dodger most fish were caught at 10 feet or less.

I was at chicken creek last week and they were out in the middle flopping for flies till the wind pick up. I was in around 25-40 ft of water using mosquito.

In my opinion a couple more weeks shall be better then now.

I agree that October and the cooler water is fantastic, but don't under estimate how good the fishing can be in Sept. I had a fantastic time in Sept. last year and am off to a decent start so far this year too.

I heard that the road to Renegade was closed due to some construction. Anyone know if it is open yet?

I have to admit that I do not fish from shore much, so I'm sorry that I cannot answer that one. But you did get me to thinking, and I did not catch as many close to shore as I did out further to where the depth is 30-40' when I was there on Monday.

I was at Strawberry on the 13th with a partner and we fished Renegade Bay along the north shore. We trolled dodgers with night crawlers and landed 26 total. All were Cutts except 3 Bows. We probably missed another 8 or 9. We landed a couple of
19 1/2" Cutts that were really fat. The water temperature was 59 degrees and a beautiful overall day to be up there. I expected the leaves to be changing but they are just starting to turn

Boatfisher,
We were trolling in Renegade Bay in about 30' to 40' of water and out from the shore anywhere from 200 to 600'. Not accessible from the shore. There were boats anchored in Horse Creek Bay still fishing and they seemed to be landing a few fish. You could walk down there from the road a see what you can do.
