Headed out alone since Madi had too much homework. Been over a month since the last outing. The 2 day tournament that was happening out of Calville didn't effect me at all. Seen them running about but no biggie. Fishing still is sukcing up north. Landed 5 LMB on a Sammy Topwater before I needed to put sunglasses on and was feeling good but it went south supppper fast from then on. The next one was hours later on a squarebill then one well after lunch on a 6xd diver. Called it and headed home. The sonars were dam clean all day. Never seen a bait ball or any Striper sightings north of Echo Marina. Certainly no reason to even break out a drop shot or mess with a jig or worm.

This little guy... Not really sure if I hooked him or lassoed him, lol.

Tough day on the water bro. I haven't been out in over a month myself. Saving money for my November deer hunt. I will try maybe in a week or two before the hunt and hope the water will cool enough to turn em on.
Thanks for the report and good luck next trip.

I haven't shot a deer, elk, antelope, etc in years... Was the primary food group growing up in Montana... I use to head up there while still in the Military every Oct/Nov and shoot one or all listed above but left most of the meat up there with my family and only brought a 100lbs or so back. Didn't go too many years before the wife started to refuse to eat wild game so that was the end. No reason for the expense, etc if I was the only one to eat while everyone else ate something else.

I need to get out and do some shooting one of these weekends... Got a new Atlas bipod and a new Volquarsten trigger in the 10/22 that are both in dire need of being used for the first time. (What happens when one isn't spending the $$$ every weekend fishing... New toys magically show up on the door step [Wink] )

The cats meow of bipods attached to my SR556 right now...

I've shot way more cows than bulls over the years. An elk is an elk! They eat good.

This is one of the last Mule Deers I ever shot. Way back in the late 80s or early 90s. At least one that I have a picture of... I might of gone hunting a few few more years after this but that was about it for hunting for me. Been a looooong time!

I need to get out and put the chase down on some coyotes one of these days!
