Had a great time out on Nickajack this weekend. I thought with the drag boat races going on, my usual end of the lake would be packed but it wasn't bad at all.

Bass: Caught a few keepers in 2-8 feet of water. There were MASSIVE schools of baitfish running right next to rip rap and the largemouth were holding and ambushing. At one point, I saw one launch itself out of the water, land on the bank, and work its way back into the water. I had luck with a spinner bait fishing around these bait fish. Caught a few as well on a Rapala DT6 in Old School color. I had no results on the frog. I won't go as far as to say they aren't biting a frog as perhaps I was using the wrong color. However, I didn't get a fish in the boat off a frog Saturday.

White Bass: I had a BLAST fishing a school of white bass Saturday. I was again using that DT6 and caught fish every cast for about 20 minutes. At one point I had 2 whites on one cast. Pretty solid and fun day. If anyone else went out down here, I hope they enjoyed themselves as well. That is after all, why we do this.
