east canyon wiper

Fished east canyon on Saturday with a couple buddies and got a nice little treat in the form of a 5in wiper while trolling for trout, thought maybe some people would like to know about it, will get a pic posted next week, buddy took pic on his camera and ill get it from him

Thanks for posting that report Jason, Bduck and I talked about catching a wiper on our last trip there but figured they would be too small this year, looks like I was wrong. Congratulation on being the first BFT member to report catching one. That Epic lure know no bounds on what it will catch, the next thing you will tell me is that you caught a lake trout with one[Wink].

wypers in east canyon? what are they going to eat?? no baitfish to speak of,they don't chase craws,,mmm?? trout fry maybe?? not the greatest idea ive ever seen can drew explain the reason behind this ??

Actually they love crayfish. Stripers feed on lobsters and crab in the ocean. At Powell, when shad are low, the grub in the rocks for crawdads. That is one reason the put them in East Canyon, to help control the dads !!
