[#0000FF]As far as local storefront operations you might try Fish Tech on Highland. Very knowledgeable and they stock most components...or can get them for you.

Several BFT members build rods and can offer both suggestions and/or assistance in building or repairing rods. UtWalleye is the moderator of the rod building board and makes beautiful custom rods. I have been making rods for many years and usually have a fair supply of blanks, handles, guides, etc.

What kind of rod are you looking to build...and how will you be using it? Also, do you have a good idea of the specs you are looking for...or is that where you need help?

I'm looking to build a spinning rod out of a 9', 5-6 pc fly rod blank for a far casting micro light pack rod I can use in California for perch and silvers in the surf. I'm looking to put on braid ready guides, cork handle with Graphite seat able to accommodate a 1000-2000 size reel, maybe 17mm And get a durable case for travel.

[#0000ff]If you want to build it yourself I can help you pick out and order the parts. Then we can assemble the handle, figure out the guide spacing and wrap it up. A lot of that is easy after you have done it once. I have done it a bunch.

By the way, I have fished the surf all the way from Cabo to British Columbia. Love the perch, corbina, croakers, calicos, opaleyes, jacksmelt, etc.

Do got a question though. Why do you want a multipiece rod? For airline transport?

Yep exactly for Airlines. I have my 3 piece for stripers, 5 piece for vertical jigging, and an assortment of fly rods. I just have never built a rod before, I think it would be a fun project. And it's the only way I can get the rod I want.

[#0000FF]Building your first rod on a five piece blank will be "fun". I'd be happy to lend some assistance if you want it.

I would appreciate the help for sure. I'll have to come by and get a list together of every thing I need and want to make this concept.
