Flasher
#1
Hey everybody im looking to upgrade to a new flasher for ice fishing and im looking at either the marcum vx1 pro flasher or a showdown ice troller. To those who may have used these models or owns any of these models are there any major pros/cons with any one unit.
For the price they are pretty even if i get the upgrade pack for the showdown but it still doesent come with a 12 volt.
The vx1 comes with everything i need, so im kinda leaning towards the vx1 but not 100% yet.
Any thoughts or suggestions would be sweet!!!

I think you'll find that most people are completely happy with the one and only flasher they've ever owned. For me, that's the Showdown Troller with the 12v pack.

Next up, you'll hear from folks delighted with their Vexilar, Garmin, Humminbird...

i have owned a showdown a humminbird 35 and 55 a marcum LX7 and the LX9 i prefer the LX7 to any flasher. i have used vexlars and the marcum LX5 as well. if it was me i would get the vx1. as the showdown is a neat unit i like the flasher displays over the vertical flashers. it really is a fact of trying to find someone to let you use each. i have used flashers for 7 years and have used and owned a lot. i would say save as much money as you can and get the LX6 or LX7 there is nothing better than a marcum. if you are not looking to come up with the extra money i would get the vx1-p. just a side note the lx6,7,9 are all upgrade-able and the lx7 can be sent in to be turned into a lx9 for the $400+ that the lx9 costs so you dont have to try to sell the 7 and come up with $1300. also i use my lx7 on the front of my boat as a graph so it is used year round and you can punches a ducer to go no the back of the boat.
i hope you are able to find the right one to fit you and your needs.
