Using Chrome ?
#1

A BFT member asked the following in a PM to me. I do not use Chrome, so was unable to help. Hoping one of you can provide some assistance.

"I am trying my hardest to not use Internet Explorer as my web browser, however, today when I opened up BFT using Chrome and tried to make a post on my fishing trip today, I ran into a problem
1) when I clicked on the little box to make a "New Post" it took me to the typical page where you can post, however, in the area of the page called "Post", it does not give me any options. The options appear as B, I, U, " <c>, flush left, center, flush right, etc. This little menu bar with these options also has the little "square" that I click on after I upload photos, so I can put them right into the text of the document. This entire menu bar is missing in Chrome. I tried changing the "Message Style" to "Markup" which is what it is set to in IE. I also tried all the other options and it made absolutely no difference that I could see (I even refreshed the page in hopes it would work). Does BFT simply not work well with Chrome? Are the options for text not available in Chrome?"

Yeah IE and Firefox only have the options he wants. Chrome and safari don't.

Firefox is the only way to go. I can only speculate on the reasons why he doesn't want to use IE but chrome is even worse for the assumptions I'm making on his decision.

I'll say it again - Firefox!!

I use Chrome and I've never had a problem typing text, I do however have a problem with parts of the toolbar missing. The part that is missing for me is the part where you can highlight the text and add inline pics, I can still attach pics the normal way, just can't put them inline. If you haven't already sent Mike a PM about this, I'll contact him and we can see it this is something he can help us with. I just used Chrome to make this reply.

I use Chrome on both Windows and Mac. I don't see the behavior that is being described and I haven't had problems posting, uploading, formatting text, etc. Definitely a hard one to diagnose over the internet. [:/][:/]

Have you tried adding inline pics?

Curt, Posting pics "in-line" is EXACTLY the problem I am having with Chrome. Using PC (not Mac) it won't show the toolbar for allowing you to do that. Also, the same toolbar where you can change the color, font, underline, etc. of the text is missing when posting in Chrome. I have switched to Firefox and it works great. However, I have to use Chrome (only) for several other applications and I was hoping not to open another explorer, but such is life.

Exactly the same problems I'm experiencing, I doubt there is anything that can be done with this problem until the system is upgraded but I will ask.
