ICE Update Mantua|Pineview
#1
Here's a quick vid for ice updates.
Please excuse the edit. It was really quick is on my personal website. I'm in the stage of revamping the site but for now, this was the easiest and quickest way for me to post it.

Thanks for the update! Saves me doing a drive by. Looks like we'll need several days of really cold temps to get Pineview fishable from the hard deck.

I was at mantua yesterday for a few casts. There is some ice but some guys were busting it up in their boats. If it does cap there will be thin spots. Fishing was good for planter bows off the dike with a black marabou jig.

Nice update, I really think it will take below zero temps to get a good skin started. If the weather report is good I think we might be able to ice fish by New Years day. The snow today should show where the ice is anyway. Thanks for the report and glad you caught some. Later J

For sure I'm going to fish lake a few time on the ice in 2015 because how dirt cheap the trip will be with my costco card [angelic]

Good luck on that trip and I hope that gas will stay reasonable so you can do it. Later J

Ya so far a trip would cost like $38 in my car and split that with someone in half is dirt cheap comparing to last year cost like $60.

So have you heard any update on the ice at Mantua today? The cold put a solid coat on Cutler last night and it's already colder than last night's low so I'm pretty sure tonight will cover all of Mantua so start your countdown clock. 3 days at this cold of weather will put the early guys on the ice. I figure New Year's Day will be my first trip. I just wonder how early I'll have to get there to get a parking spot. Pretty sure the whole wasatch front will be there. Sweet dreams. J

People need to stop taking their boat out there and destroying the ice [laugh]. They should have a rule that no boats on Mantua in December when there's a sheet of ice even [crazy].

Went there yesterday morning
Found the lake to completly open. The edges had slushy ice not solid.
With the cold temps it wont be long.

Cutler and Benson grew about 1.5" of ice last night. Give it a few more days like that and it'll be time to try it. Later J
