Anyone have a recent ice report for hyrum or mantua? I get off at noon on Wednesdays and wanted to hit one of the lakes for a few hours. I read lavamans mantua report, sounds like 5" there? Just wondering with the warm temps how the ice integrity will be tomorrow. Any info would be great! Thanks. If you wanna join me tomorrow afternoon pm me!

I was going to hit Hyrum tomorrow - but then called the park and I was told that the warm weather has made for some "rotten ice". 3-4 inches but spotty in some areas and water around the edges of the lake.
I decided it wasn't worth my drive up.

I was wondering about that at hyrum. Maybe I'll drive over and check out mantua then. Thanks, any other report will be helpful.

this warm up is driving me nuts. I hope we see some freezing weather to lock things back up.

You're reading my mind... This post is exactly what I was wanting to know... Doesn't sound good for Hyrum for Saturday... Last night was quite a bit colder than the night before, did it heal the ice at Hyrum to where it's fishable? Thanks J

I just checked the Hyrumdamcam website. No people out on the ice and it doesnt look great. I think I'll leave Hyrum alone this week till we get some reports of better ice. I'll drive over to Mantua and get on the ice hopefully by 1:00 and see how things are there.

Thank you very much for the update. Is it plank time or worse than that? Hopefully more cold will return. Somehow I need more than one week of ice fishing. Porcupine won't even cap this year at the current rate. Thanks again for the update. J

A long blank will do it. I went by porcupine last saturday and it was all capped except one spot out in the middle. A lot of the ice looked new but by the dam it looked a little thicker, However I did not go down to cut a hole so I can't tell you how thick it was.

Sweet, thank you for that info. Guess it's too warm to get much thicker this week but if it will get cold again then maybe we'll get to chase Kokes. Thank you. J
