Burbot Bash CANCELLED
#1
Ok, I'm just the messenger. I just got word from the Daggett County office and Brian Raymond, the Daggett County Economic Development Director, that the Flaming Gorge Chamber of Commerce has cancelled the Burbot Bash due to deteriorating and dangerous ice conditions. That's all I know. I don't have any other answers. I was just asked if I can pass this along. Heads up. If I hear anything to the contrary, I'll post it.

That is likely a good idea, after hearing about a that guy dieing yesterday or the day before, when he fell through the ice, it is always better not to take any chances. Thanks for passing this info on Jim.

I was registered and was just emailed that the Burbot Bash has been cancelled. If you paid via card online it will be refunded to that card. If you paid via cash or check you will receive a refund check in the mail.

Looks like it's time to bolt the ice cutter to the front of the ski boat and go fishing in my favorite honey holes.

It is Sad to hear about the drowning and I am sure they made the right decision to cancel the bash. Surely it can't be safe to have hundreds of people out there with so little ice. I am wondering if anyone has been there first-hand in the past couple of days and can tell us what the conditions are like where there is ice.

I saw that today at Fish Tech. Its probably the right call. We dont need anyone else out there going through the ice.

The whole burbot bash is a novel idea but you can harvest burbot almost any time of the year.... summer can be tougher but some guys do catch them fairly well.

If you or anyone else wants to nail some burbs, come on up in your boat or try from shore.
