Millite - Ice free but slow
#1
I fished Millsite Reservoir today in my kick boat from 8:30 - 2:30 using fly tackle. I used a medium sink rate line (#3) and size 6-8 crystal buggers in black/copper, red/green, red/black/blue. I also had some luck on size 6-10 leeches in Canada blood and olive. The catch was a mix of splake, tigers, rainbows, and cutthroat. The fish all ranged from 12" to 17" long. The water temperature was 37-39 degrees and the visibility in the water was about 4'. The reservoir level is at 76% full and stable. Most of the fish were hooked in 10' - 20' while trolling and pumping the rod. Beautiful day but the fish haven't quite woke up yet.

Great report and pics. Thanks for sharing. Is millsite the res just south of castledale?

Yeah.

It's just a few miles west of Ferron. There is a State Park campground and boat ramp there along with a golf course.
