Lake mead fishing report 2/18
#1
Hit the Lake Mead around 8am this morning. Launched out of gov't wash. Water temp held steady around 61 degrees. Pedal down to the back of the wash to net shad. Shad was hard to come by. Took about an hour to net enough shad to fish for a few hours. The make up of the shad was mostly thread fin with a few large gizzards mixed it.

After making bait, I head toward pitchfork cove and Cresent Island. I didn't mark a lot of fish. Most of the fish were in about 40-50 fow. However, I was able to pick 4 for the day, the biggest being 4lbs. All fish were caught either drift fishing or at a slow troll.

Overall it was a gorgeous day and it was good to get into some Striper again.

Sounds like a great trip. 4 pounders are hard to come by these days for sure.
