The weather patterns for the last month or two had been so favorable I decided to put a trip to the Green River together for a handful of buddies. I laid the plans and made the reservations only to have the weather take a turn on us the very weekend we were shooting for. So rather than fight the snow and cold temps where I really want to go, I have been entertaining the idea of finding some new water in a more favorable part of the state. Has anyone fished any of the following water or have any suggestions on where we could go?
Fremont river - reports say it's fishing good above mill meadow?
Oak Creek - One of the few trout holdings west of I-15. the weather out here looks the best but I have no idea how it fishes. Note: I am looking at the oak creek near oak city but i am not opposed to the oak creek in the capitol reef area if anyone has good reports.
Filmore Area - (chalk creek, meadow creek, corn creek)
Mill Creek and Kens lake - In the Moab area
Under normal circumstances I would probably just wait and hit up the green on a more favorable weekend. But this will be the last weekend for one of the guys before his wife has their third baby. He is going to be out of commission for a few months and we want to get him out before he does his time on the inside. There will be a total of six guys with and two of them are beginners.
Thanks in advance!
