Nice, thanks for the report. I'm trying to decide between brownlee and owyhee reservoirs for tomorrow (Friday). Did you find any smallmouth at brownlee? I don't usually get up there until May, do you think I'd have much luck with crankbaits or are the fish still in deeper water?
Also never boat fished at owyhee reservoir, anyone know if the sm bass fishing is any good this time of year?
Thanks again for the report!

Was up there Tuesday. Never touched a fish. We tried deep and shallow. Not sure whats up. I have always done real well this time of year with smallies. We marked a lot of fish over deep water but no takers.

Pretty sure there up spawning I would assume since water is 52 degrees, look for a shallow soft bottom on the upper end, as we went from spring rec toward the Dam water got cooler, we were almost too the malhuer river and it was barely 50, still spawning temp for small mouth, I personally would search with a spinner bait along sandy sections of the reservoir, do a quick search on google "when do smallmouth bass spawn" gotta know what the fish are doing too catch them.

I've seen a whole bunch of nice smb pics the last couple of weeks from brownlee, but everyone is tight lipped. The Boise guys have been living on the place. Our club doesn't go there for another month. Needs to get to 60 degrees for beds, the big girls are probably way deep under the crappie. I'd fish sturgle if it were me. Check out this pic I got on Facebook today 45.53 lbs looks like grizzly bear.
