Mt. View bruisers
#1
Fished Mt. View Friday and found the trout even nicer than last year. Caught one 18"er, four 21's, and one 24. The bites came frequently, but the hook-ups....not so fast. They weren't hammering the bait, just stealing the marshmallow. We were fishing from shore, but watched lots of float tubers and they were working for the fish also. Talked to a few guys fishing the dam from shore and they averaged about 2 fish apiece. The reason we did a bit better was due to the fact that we were there at break of dawn. Most others arrived about 9-10 and it seemed to shut down around noon. We pulled out shortly after. Not as fast at last fall, but these were heavy, nice fish. Kali hooked one (on a pole she had just caught two nice fish on) that came close to spooling her. She had not readjusted her drag. It had to be a monster. Broke off shortly after. Sure would have liked to see that one. I think the fishing will improve as the water warms up a bit. Mike
